Hi I realise that you probably won't be able to help me directly, but do you know who I can speak to about your village's regular Conker Day event in October? I would like to give it a little write-up in the October/November issue of Village Connect. Many thanks in advance, Louise Louise Lambert Editor, Village Connect 01664 424254 / 07879 854 882 http://www.villageconnect.co.uk

FURTHER REQUEST FOR INFORMATION :-
Greetings! It has been rather a long time, and in the meantime I have been chasing other branches of my ancestry all over the Midlands and - surprisingly (to me anyway) Sussex. But there are a couple of points I would like to pursue out of sheer curiosity. Firstly: John Musson, d. 16 June 1830, to whom there is a magnificent memorial (funded by conscience-stricken employer?) in Clawson churchyard; where does he 'fit in'? Secondly, has anyone established a connection with one Captain Telemachus Musson, who swore (?) his will in 1827 before George Cadogan Notary Public in Cape Town (haven't found a reference to his actual death...) Thirdly, I would be curious to know more about Steve Musson, who wore the no. 5 shirt for Derby County in the 1946 Cup Final. All the best, Mike Spittal
Most interested to see the 3 Musson family photos. William Musson was my paternal Grandmother's uncle. My Gandmother was Gertrude Spittal nee Wakeling, her mother was William Musson's big sister Mary Jane. Mary Jane was born 1857, married John Wallis Wakeling in Long Clawson in 1881 and died 1912. I would be very pleased to hear from any surviving Mussons, please send an email to webmaster@long-clawson.com. Michael Spittal
Further information:- My ancester Henry Musson from Middlesex - all I know of him is born 1827 possibly he was a mariner who came to Whitehaven, Cumberland UK. Scant info but bit of a mystery was Henry. I am David G Musson.
LATEST:- Dear Mr Spittal, my great Uncle is the late Charles Musson of Harby. Would he be a relation of William Musson? Kind regards Elaine Edgson
